针对环境和能源形势的日趋恶化,汽车作为污染环境和消耗能源的大户,历来备受关注,开发环境污染小且具有一定发展前景的“绿色汽车发动机”已成为竞相开发的热点,且形色各异。醇类发动机醇类发动机主要是指甲醇、乙醇。甲醇来源丰富,可从煤炭、天然气中制取。现有的汽油发动机只要经过稍加改造就可以燃烧醇类燃料。目前,日本、美国、巴西等都已开发出醇类发动机。醇类燃料也存在一些缺点:如冷起动、气阻和对塑料件和橡胶的溶胀和腐蚀
