在英语中,省略是节约用词、避免重复、突出关键词并使上下文紧密连接的常用的语法手段。省略指的是由于修辞上的需要,把语言结构中的某个成分省去不提,使表达更为简练、紧凑和清晰。省略还是英语衔接手段中的一个重要组成部分,可起到连接上下文并突出中心词、简化表达程序、增加语言效果的作用。省略形式多样,从单词、短语到分句,都可以省略。本文拟从语法结构角度分析英语中的省略现象。
In English, omission is a commonly used grammatical means of saving words, avoiding repetition, highlighting the key words and making the context closely connected. Omission refers to the omission of a certain component of the language structure due to its rhetorical needs so as to make the expression more concise, compact and clear. Ellipsis or English cohesive means an important part, can play a connecting context and highlight the center of the word, simplify the expression process, increase the role of language effects. Omitted in various forms, from words, phrases to clause, can be omitted. This article intends to analyze the omission in English from the perspective of grammatical structure.
