The high speed and high sensitivity of the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer allows it to be connected to capillary gas chromatography and perform GC-FT-IR experiments at high speeds. An FT-IR data system with data collection, a program that can reconstruct the chromatogram from infrared data. These chromatographic procedures can be gram-Schmidt numbers or functional groups. At the end of the data collection process, the spectra of the various chromatographic components recorded can be retrieved from gas-phase infrared data.
