Language is a complex social phenomenon that occurs when two or more languages are in contact. Since its first introduction in the 1970s, code-switching has drawn the attention of academics. Many scholars have studied the origin, function and influential factors of code-switching, however, there are few motivations for code-switching in specific groups or environments. Based on the actual campus corpus collection and data investigation, this paper analyzes the use of the code-switching in the university campus by using the representative theory of Western research on the motivation of code-switching. The results show that the motivation of campus code conversion mainly has language motivation and social psychological motivation. Language motivation to fill the vacancies of words to avoid ambiguity, etc .; social psychological motives are humorous, contrast and comparison.
