Tetranychus telarius is one of eleven major pests and diseases in China. In order to improve its prediction and forecasting to improve the control effect, the author studied the photoperiodic response of different cotton leaf mite populations when they studied in Leningrad, the Soviet Union from 1957 to 1959. The report is as follows. MATERIALS AND METHODS Materials Five populations of Soviet cotton spider mites were studied: Leningrad (59 ° 44’N), Krasnodar (44 ° 53’N), Tbilisi (41 ° 43’N Tashkent (41 ° 21’N) and Stalinabad (37 ° 50’N). In order to further determine the reliability of each geographical population used, in addition to the morphological identification, but also between the populations of hybrids, all get normal offspring. The geographical populations were isolated and cultured in five separate rooms, the food for potted -1 variety of cotton. The photoperiodic response of each geographic population was measured in a cryogenic laboratory using an automatically regulated incubator (± 0.3 ° C) with a light source of three lamps of 20 watts. Relative humidity of 75-90%. There were three replicates for each treatment, with 200 spider mites in each group. Eggs were treated immediately after they hatched as larvae, and shellac was sprayed around the flower pot openings to prevent them from becoming mixed with each other. Cotton seedling stem wrapped cotton wool coated with a layer of shellac to prevent diapause individuals through the cotton into the soil. In addition to laboratory tests, observations were made at Stalinabad to determine the effects of different foodstuffs on diapause. The effects of different dietary qualities on diapause were observed regularly. Investigations were made on the effects of old cotton plants, regenerated cotton plants, old licorice, and regenerated licorice The number of individuals and non-diapause individuals and their fecundity are also at the same time, also
