Approved by the International Committee of the Red Cross, six nurses from China were awarded the 42nd International Nightingale Prize this year, including two Army nurses, Xianji Shu, from the Southwest Hospital of the Third Military Medical University and Wang Wenzhen, general hospital of the Navy. On the morning of October 27, 2009, the Red Cross Society of China held the 42nd “Nightingale Medal” awarding ceremony in the Great Hall of the People.
