1958年2月1日至4日湖南省科联农科八个学会(农业,林业,土壤,昆虫,茶叶,畜牧,动物和植物等学会)和湖南农学院联合在长沙举行了学术讨论会。会议主要内容是总结1957年学会工作,交流学术经验,进一步动员全省农业技术工作者加强科学研究和技术指导工作,为实现农业生产大跃进服务。这种采用联合会议的形式,进行学术讨论和科学研究,在湖南还是第一次,而且会议目的旨在为发展农林业生产,主题明确,对我们从事教学工作的人来说,会议本身就极富有教育意义,而且是一次最好的学习机会。
