红山文化发源于中国东北地区西南部,距今约6500至5000年,是华夏文明的重要渊源之一。红山文化遗存发现于20世纪初,1954年尹达先生根据梁思永先生的意见,提出了“红山文化”的命名。从那时起至今,考古发现了大量红山文化遗存,包括大量制作精美、造型和题材丰富多样的玉器、陶器及祭祀遗址等,吸引着国内外学者长期不懈的关注与探讨。随着考古工作的持续开展,有关红山文化的学术研究也日渐深入。本刊特邀长期从事红山文化研究的著名学者郭大顺先生、深悉地方本土文化的于建设教授、从事环境史研究的滕海键博士,分别就仰韶文化与红山文化的关系、红山文化的社会形态和性质、红山文化分布区上古时代的人地关系等问题给予阐释,以推进对红山文化的深入研究。
Hongshan culture originated in the southwestern part of northeast China, about 6500-5000 years ago, is one of the important origins of Chinese civilization. Red Mountain cultural relics were discovered in the early 20th century. In 1954, Mr. Yin Da proposed the name “Hongshan Culture” according to the opinion of Mr. Liang Siyong. Since then, a large number of Red Mountain cultural relics have been discovered in archeology, including a large number of jade wares, pottery and sacrificial sites that are exquisitely crafted, styled and rich in theme, attracting long-term and unrelenting attention and discussion from scholars at home and abroad. With the ongoing archeology work, academic research on Hongshan culture has been deepening.
