偶然一次去山西看了乔家大院,从那时起知道了晋商的富甲天下。晋商500年的可歌可泣、壮怀激烈、史诗般的寻求财富之路,使很多外省人改变了山西只是贫瘠荒芜的看法,使很多学者改变了“中国民国之前只有市井小贩”的看法。山西人走西口,出关外,闯江湖,下码头,他们告别了哀怨缠绵的故土和儿女之情,怀着“天下一家,信义为本”的新观念,开创了前无古人的大商邦,创造了明清商业史上的辉煌。也因此,晋商在全国各地的会馆数不胜数。为了找寻中原历史遗留的山陕会馆,我从开封开始,南到南阳,走访拍摄了至今保留的四大山陕会馆。在中原的山陕会馆中,当年晋商们的生活痕迹依稀可见,而山西票号的由盛转衰也尽被那些曾经不绝于耳的笙竹之声所演绎……
