名词修饰语的前/后置选择与转化是英语特有的一个句法现象。以往研究试图从词汇允准的角度加以解释,存在循环论证的问题。本文从构式语法的视角重新审视该现象,发现构式在修饰语前/后置选择与转化中起着重要作用,即英语名词修饰语结构中其实存在着前置和后置两个语法构式,分别允准前、后置修饰语的产生,其间,修饰语构式的语篇功能次范畴化和描述性为前、后置修饰语的选择提供了有理据的限制。构式允准理论在名词修饰语前/后置选择与转化分析中的应用为语序的选择与转化研究提供了新的视角,增强了构式语法的解释力。
The pre / post selection and transformation of noun modifiers is a syntactic phenomenon unique to English. Previous studies attempted to explain from the perspective of lexical access, there is a problem of circular argument. This paper reexamines the phenomenon from the perspective of constructive grammar, and finds that constructions play an important role in pre / post choice and transformation of modifiers. That is to say, the structure of English noun modifiers has two syntactic structures In the meantime, the subcategorization and descriptivity of the discourse function of the modifier structure provide a valid limitation on the choice of the former and the latter modifiers. The application of the constructional allowance theory in pre- / post-selection and transformation analysis of noun modifiers provides a new perspective for the study of the choice and transformation of word order and enhances the explanatory power of constructive grammar.
