Objective To investigate the statistical characteristics of metabolic syndrome (MS) and its components in special groups with heavy traffic and irregular lifestyles. Methods Nine hundred and thirteen traffic police who participated in the annual physical examination were tested for height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, blood lipids, blood glucose and other indicators. According to the definition of the International Diabetes Federation definition of MS and statistical analysis. Results The overall detection rate of MS was 28.5%. The detection rates of overweight / obesity, central obesity, hypertension, carbohydrate metabolism and dyslipidemia were 56.0%, 35.7%, 32.3%, 12.0% and 53.9% respectively. MS, the highest rate of the three combinations, accounting for 22.2%, with the central obesity + high blood pressure + high TG combination is the most common. Conclusion There is a high detection rate of MS in traffic police crowd. It is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of cardiovascular risk factors. Early diagnosis and active intervention of MS are of great significance to reduce cardiovascular disease and mortality and improve prognosis.
