1953年10月出生,山东章丘人。1970年12月参加工作,先后任济南汽车配件厂工人、团委书记、车间党支部书记、车间主任;1983年9月入上海机械学院学习,1985年7月毕业后任济南汽车配件厂办公室干部、党委书记、党委书记兼厂长;1990年11月任济南市机械局副局长,槐荫区挂职副区长;1992年11月任中共济南市槐荫区委副书记、代区长、区长,中共槐荫区委副书记;1996年3月任济南市经委主任、党组书记;1996年11月任中共济南市委工交工委书记、市经委主任;1998年2月任济南市副市长、党组成员;2000年8月,任中国重型汽车公司董事长、党委书记;2000年9月,任中共济南市委副书记;中国重汽公司董事长、党委书记;2004年5月至今任中国重汽公司董事长、党委书记。2005年获全国劳动模范称号。
