At the annual meeting of the Neuroscience Society, November 1986, in Washington, D.C., a team of scientists at Johns Hopkins Medical School reported that a mouse model that they had developed that had most of the features of the human Down’s syndrome was pure Population. Down’s Syndrome, the most common cause of mental retardation, is a Down’s Syndrome. The newly developed mouse chromosome 16 can be copied as three (16 triplet). Mouse chromosome 16 corresponds to human chromosome 21. The extra body of a chromosome 21 of some of the genes, and facial deformities, heart disease, blood diseases, mental retardation, Alzheimer’s disease, and early death related. The researchers found that the 16 triplet mice had similar lesions to those with Down Syndrome and were therefore the first animal model of the syndrome.
