关于和谐社会的内涵,胡锦涛总书记在讲话中用28个字已经概括得十分清楚。当前有一部分人对提出“和谐社会”的背景认识上有误区,认为是因为这些年来发展不平衡、差距拉大、矛盾增加、社会不稳定,党中央才提出这个问题,其实不然。实际上和谐社会的提出,有近、中、远三重意义。从近距离的意义看,目前我国已进入人均国民生产总值从1000美元-3000美元的跨越发展时期,从世界上许多国家的经验来看,这一时期易造成地区发展不平衡,社会差距
With regard to the connotation of a harmonious society, General Secretary Hu Jintao has made a very clear statement in 28 words. At present, some people have misconceptions about the background of putting forward a “harmonious society.” They think it is because of the unbalanced development over the years, the widening gap, the increase in contradictions, and the social instability. This is not the case that the Central Party Committee raised this issue. In fact, the proposal of a harmonious society has three meanings of being near, middle and far. From a short distance perspective, at present, our country has entered a leapfrog development period with a per capita GNP of 1,000 to 3,000 U.S. dollars. From the experiences of many countries in the world, this period is likely to cause imbalances in the development of the region and social gaps
