方志由志、纪、传、图、表、录等体裁组成。表,即各种表格,是方志记载方法之一。它在志书中所占篇幅有增加的趋势,但具体运用中存在一些问题。笔者以《呼图壁县志稿》为例,谈点看法。 旧方志已有图表。新方志中的表,其规模、内容、科学性等都远远超过旧方志。它与其它体裁相互联系、相互依存,构成一个统一体。显然,志书的文字记述与表必然相辅相成,然而表又具有相对的独立性。认真研究文与表之间的协同配合,有助于提高志书质量。
