【据《日本鋼铁协会会报》1986年第11期报道】连铸机结晶器液石波动不仅影响连铸坯的表面质量,而且会降低生产率。为此,已研制了许多种结晶器液面自动控制系统,但效果都不怎么好。其原因是把研究的重点放在提高液面测定值的精确度上,而不是放在找出液面波动的原因上。如在传统系统中,有时由于滑动水口被凝固钢液粘住,致使其运动滞后,结晶器液面发生很大的波动,改进液面检测方法并不能解决这一问题。住友金属工业公司研制了一种新型的结晶器液面自动控制系统,命名为住友金属滑动水口系统(SSGS)。使用该系统能防止滑动水口粘结。
