1951年以前,捷克斯洛伐克的医疗机構是沒有統一的領导而是用各职工会的基金和由职工会的某些部門来管理的,自从1951年起,所有的医疗机構都由保健部、区保健科統一領导。保健部和区保键科下設主要的專科研究所(內科、外科、兒科、口胜科、血液学科等)。保健机構的組織依地方特性而不同。在区有区立医院附設門診部、流行病医疗站附設衛生宣教室;在工厂有衛生医疗部,在农村有农村医务门診所,药房。任何地方的医疗部門中,护士都是主要的成員。
Before 1951, the medical institutions in Czechoslovakia did not have unified leadership but managed the funds of the trade unions and certain departments of the trade unions.
