锣,由铜锡合金制成,圆形,以小槌敲击发音。锣在我国后魏(公元6世纪)以前就已出现,当时叫“沙锣”。古时的锣,常用于礼仪和战争,因此有“鸣锣开道”“鸣金收兵”之说。《元史·礼乐志》记载:“云璈制以锣,为小锣十三,同一木架,下有长柄,左手持而右手以小槌击之。”这里说的“云璈”,即是我们今天所通称的“云锣”。从山西永乐宫的元代壁画来看,元代云锣所用的小锣并不限13个,也有10个和14个的。明清以后,普遍流行的一种云锣由10个小锣组成。解放后的改革云
