高油玉米育种从40年代开始,一直未曾间断,但在80年代之前进展不大。种质资源的匮乏和创造资源的艰难是两个基本原因。高油玉米的遗传增值表现在能量水平的提高和营养成分的改善,主要反映在较高的饲养效率和加工产值。80年代以来,随着种质资源的拓宽和育种技术的改进,高油玉米已经走上了健康快速发展的道路,我国高油玉米也从引进资源阶段步入了独立发展新时期。十几年来,无论在资源创新和杂交种选育均有所建树。新育成的杂交种不仅含油量居世界前列,而且在抗病、抗倒及丰产潜力方面均有突破。它把优质、高产、多用途和高效益有机结合起来,因而发展前途十分光明。
High-oil corn breeding has not been interrupted since the 1940s, but little progress has been made until the 1980s. The lack of germplasm resources and the difficulty of creating resources are two basic reasons. The genetic value of high-oil corn is reflected in the improvement of energy level and nutrition, which is mainly reflected in the higher feeding efficiency and processing value. Since the 1980s, with the expansion of germplasm resources and the improvement of breeding techniques, high-oil corn has embarked on a path of healthy and rapid development. China’s high-oil corn has also entered a new period of independent development from the stage of introducing resources. More than a decade, both in resource innovation and hybrid breeding have made its due. The newly bred hybrids not only rank the highest oil content in the world but also make breakthroughs in disease resistance, lodging resistance and high yield potential. It combines high quality, high yield, multipurpose and high efficiency, so the development prospect is very bright.
