Recently, the Qilian Mountains Task Force, mainly composed of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made relatively detailed stratigraphic studies in the middle part of the southern Qilian Mountains, the northern regions of the Russian Bo Gully, the Hexi Corridor and the northeastern margin of the Qaidam Basin, respectively.
