The first official world record for women’s marathon was 3 hours, 19 minutes and 33 seconds and was created by New Zealand Athlete Simopus on July 27, 1964. May 8, 1967 Canadian Veteran, 13, runs full time in Toronto with 3 hours 15 minutes 22 seconds 8. In the autumn of the same year, the first European women’s marathon run was held in West Germany and Peder Erdkam in West Germany set a new world record in 3 hours, 7 minutes and 26 seconds. In the early 1970s, the women’s marathon ran thriving. January 28, 1970 American athlete UKOck set a new record at 3 hours, 2 minutes and 53 seconds.
