Mao Tse-tung appreciated Guo Moruo’s talent. He often said that “Guo Moruo has done a good job in historical drama.” “Historical drama has benefited greatly the Chinese people. Mao Zedong also commended Kuo Mo-jo’s poems. Both of them are comrade-in-arms and poetic friends. From the revolutionary era to the construction era, poems are presented to and from each other, and singing and communication are extremely close. From what Mao Tse-tung has seen so far, he has written more to Guo Moruo than anyone else. Especially after the founding of New China, Mao Zedong also asked Guo Moruo about poetry from time to time. Mao Zedong even said with an amusing tone: ”Guo Lao Guo is old and knows nothing and nothing is unknown.“ In his speech at a science and technology university, Guo Moruo modestly said: ”Guo is not old, poetry is good and few are, everyone Work hard and study Chairman Mao.
