In Kazakhstan, a new catalytic oxidation technology developed by the Saltanat Scientific Research Center performs better than the prior art in removing sulphides from oil and gas. Kazakhstan has used this technology to improve the production facilities of the existing natural gas processing plants. The quality and quantity of products have been raised, at a minimum of $ 1.5 a year [108]. One of the major problems with the Kazakhstock crude is the presence of mercaptans, H2S and COS. The Tengiz field burns approximately 20 [108 m3 of natural gas each year and the Prorva field burns approximately 5 [108 m3 of natural gas each year. The new technology uses GIZ - 1, which is both a catalyst and a reagent. After use, GIZ - 1 is very easy to inhale air for regeneration. This technique replaces monoethanolamine (MEA) with GIZ - 1, eliminating the need for dehydration with cyclobutane (DEG). The application of GIZ - 1 based technology can increase natural gas production, but also improve the quality of natural gas.
