On a summer day in 1960, the city of Rome is immersed in a festive atmosphere, where the marathon of the 17th Olympic Games will be held. Roman stadium filled with Roman citizens and sports fans from all over the world, even the passage filled with people. The venue was packed with news agencies’ correspondents and radio broadcasters who will broadcast live matches to hundreds of millions of television viewers around the world. Probably because of the long history, the Roman nation seems to have a special interest in the marathon. People have been talking about this game for a long time now, and some even made a small bet on themselves as the most promising player.
