The research work on the history of the Yihetuan Movement has been greatly carried out since it entered the 1980s: In 1980 and 1982, two Symposiums on the history of the Boxer Syrian Movement were held in Jinan and Weihai, Shandong Province respectively, and a history study for the Boxers was established. In the meantime, there were nearly 20 monographs, popular books and related materials in the history of the Boxer Rebellion.
