1980年6月的一天,烈日当空,骄阳似火。突然,一阵尖锐的警报声划破了炎热而沉闷的空气,几十辆消防车呼啸着从各条街道一同驶向北京城的西南方向。是哪里又着大火了吗?不,这是北京市公安消防总队为取得扑救液化石油气火灾的实战经验,在北京市煤气公司南郊罐瓶厂举行的一次全市性大规模消防演习。对于举行这样一次大规模的消防演习,当时有人并不以为然。然而三年后的一天,也就是1983年11月2日,当这个工厂真的发生火灾的时候,人们才真正认识到那次演习的实际价值。
One day in June 1980, the hot sun, the sun seemed like fire. Suddenly, a sharp alarm squeaked through the hot, dull air and dozens of fire engines roared to the southwest of Beijing from every street. Where is the fire? No, this is the Beijing Municipal Public Security Fire Brigade in order to obtain the actual experience of fighting liquefied petroleum gas fires, a large-scale fire drill held in the city’s southern sub-tank factory in Beijing. At the time, some people did not agree with such a large-scale fire drill. However, one day three years later, on November 2, 1983, when the factory was really hit by a fire, people really realized the actual value of that exercise.
