Since 1980’s we have carried out the detailed investigations of the sedimentation in the Okinawa Trough. We used the piston corer to obtain the samples. The maximum length of the core is 7.95 m. The turbidity sediments mainly distributed in the southern part of the Trough near the side of the shelf. The many different bedding identified by X-radiography and some bottom sole marking are presented. A lot of data of study indicated that the material source of the turbidity sediments came from the edge of the shelf. Their formation are discussed in this paper.
