China’s commitments to join the World Trade Organization on trade in agricultural products include: Tariff concessions to 2004: ● Reduce the average tariff on agricultural products to 17%; ● Reduce the tax rate on major US products to 14.5%; ● The importation of soybeans is unlimited and the tariff does not exceed 3%; ● The tariff on wine is reduced from 65% to 20%; ● The beef import duty is reduced from the current 45% to 12%;
