Objective To investigate the effects of fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose levels on urinary albumin in type 2 diabetic patients. Methods Totally 73 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were aged above 60 years and had a history of diabetes over 10 years. Among them, the average fasting blood glucose level was 7.0 mmol / L and the mean postprandial blood glucose level was 11.1 mmol / L, which was the first group ; Average fasting blood glucose level <7.0mmol / L and average postprandial blood glucose level ≥11.1mmol / L in 38 cases, the second group; 24h urine microalbuminuria were measured. Results Urine microalbuminuria in group 2 was significantly higher than that in group 1 [(287.80 ± 35.60) vs (162.50 ± 20.30) mg / 24h, P <0.01]. Conclusion The postprandial blood glucose level in patients with type 2 diabetes has a greater effect on urinary albumin levels than fasting blood glucose and positive control of postprandial blood glucose, which may play an important role in delaying the occurrence and development of diabetic nephropathy.
