龙崇拜的起源和演变是极为复杂却又非常重要的民俗史课题,早在本世纪初,中外学者就开始关注这些问题.八十年代以来,国内学者对此尤为重视.1990年由大连出版社出版、王维堤编著的《龙的踪迹》一书是一部专门研究龙崇拜的著作.到目前为止,研究龙崇拜的论著已经发表、出版不少了,但是确实有份量的还不多见.在已经出版的数十部有关著作中,《龙的踪迹》是较为重要的一部.
