2002年4月29日,得知北京市大兴县发现了一座辽代墓葬,《文明》记者和摄影师迅速赶到考古发掘现场进行采访。据介绍,这座墓葬是当地工厂在建筑取土时无意中发现的,发现时墓窒砖砌穹顶已经遭到破坏。文物部门在接到报告后进行了紧急清理工作,我们赶到现场时看到一共发现有两座墓葬,墓室呈圆形,直径约4米,规格并不大。其中一座保存较好,墓室四周的壁画色泽鲜艳,工作人员正在进行描摹;另一座则有被水浸泡的痕迹,墓室墙壁斑驳不平,
