With the continuous deepening of reform and opening up and the establishment of a socialist market economic system, the increasingly fierce news competition is facing new challenges for military news photography. Nowadays, people are no longer interested in the unappealing and powerful military news photos. On the contrary, the domestic and foreign press are eager to call for outstanding military news photos. Therefore, increasing the artistic appeal of military news photography has become an urgent task for military reporters. Military News under Peace Situation in the New Period Most of the pictures are based on the achievements of the modernization of the armed forces and are inseparable from the advanced equipment and military personnel who possess weapons and equipment. However, if it is simply expressed in a conceptualized formula of “adding equipment and adding people,” it will undoubtedly be pale and weak, and the typical image must be grasped to sentimentally people. How to show the spirit of the people’s army in the new era through the cameras in our hands is a question that I have always been thinking about. On July 6, 1990, shortly after joining the Xinhua News Agency military reporter team, I accepted the task of interviewing the 89th Military and Military Training Graduate of Peking University at Shijiazhuang Army Academy. For the first time, Peking University Freshmen conducted military training. The Central Party Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission attached great importance to this. At home and abroad, they generally paid attention to the military training of these new students and their political influence was extraordinary. Therefore, as many as 60 Chinese and foreign journalists participated in the interview. During the interview, I sent fax photos to the headquarters twice, including graduation ceremonies of military training students. At this point, the interview mission can be said to have been completed, all walks of life have to go home. However, I feel that the profound friendship that the military training students and their instructors will get along year-to-day with each other will be fully demonstrated at each moment in time. A strong sense of journalism made me determined to stay alone and catch the most valuable East
