认知语义学是对传统语义学的一种反思,主张语言表达的语义是心理性的,语义是从语言表达到认知结构的映现,语言是认知结构的组成部分,而不是独立实体。因此认知语义学为我们提供了探索意义的新视角。本文运用认知语义学的转喻观,以具体语料为例,试分析转喻对英语词汇意义的形成及其对英语词汇教学的影响,发现转喻有助于提高学生对词汇的理解和掌握。
Cognitive semantics is a reflection of the traditional semantics, advocating the semantic meaning of language expression is psychological, semantics from the language expression to the cognitive structure of the image, the language is part of the cognitive structure, rather than an independent entity. Therefore, cognitive semantics provides us with a new perspective to explore the meaning. This paper uses cognitive semantic metonymy, taking concrete corpus as an example, attempts to analyze the formation of the meaning of metonyms on English vocabulary and its impact on English vocabulary teaching, and finds that metonymy helps to improve students’ understanding and mastery of vocabulary .
