以往种茶,一直沿用传统、常规的扦插法,间或亦有通过种子育苗栽植的。常规种植一般需要五年才能达到丰产期,故收效慢、成本高。近年来采用一种新的植茶方法,叫做短穗带梢扦插法。以夏季扦插为主。关键是让插条带上嫩梢,这就必须在采苗前十至十五天对母树打顶、摘心,好让腋芽大量抽发,长出嫩梢,再带梢进行短枝扦插。此法生根成活快,种植后地上部份和地下部份发育协调均匀,生长迅速,一年就有收获,两年后亩产茶叶过百斤,三年后便可达到盛产期。
