17.墙、柱的高厚比β验算的意义和如何进行。墙、桂的高厚比β,新规范和旧规范相同,系指墙、柱的计算高度H_0和墙、柱边长h的比值。规范规定墙、柱的高厚比β应满足规范规定的允许高厚比[β]的规定值。为什么墙、柱除满足强度计算外,还需进行高厚比验算?其原因主要有二个方面: 一、墙、柱主要承受压力,首先应满足强度要求,即承载能力极限状态的规定。但还应考虑到在使用荷载下不致变形过大的限制即正常使用极限状态的规定。一般说来,变形计算十分复杂,而影响变形的重要因素是墙、柱的高度和边长的比值,即高厚比。用控制高厚比不致过大来达到在使用荷载下变形不致过大虽然不十分精确,但却十分有效。
