高层建筑由于建筑高度大、层数多、混凝土方量大、结构自重也非常大,这就对地基的承载力要求非常高,因此高层建筑的基础埋置深度都很深,基础一般都嵌入到微风化岩层中。另外,高层建筑的地下室不仅仅要满足停车要求,还要满足人防工程要求,施工过程中还要解决结构抗浮问题,这就要采用深基坑来建设多层地下室。深基坑施工牵涉到围护、防水、防坍塌等问题,其施工也是非常复杂且不确定因素多。高层建筑物工程复杂多样,子系统多,专业性强,质量要求高,这对其施工管理更是提出了更高的要求。
