2002年5月18日,中国科学院文献情报中心的新馆建成并对外开放。图书馆新馆矗立于北京中关村的中心位置,建筑面积为4.09万M~2,已经入藏文献400万册。新馆设有读者座位800席,在二楼的中心区设有较大规模的电子文献服务区域,读者可以在此获得网络资源检索,网上文献信息获取和电子文献利用等服务,三至五楼为印刷载体文献开架服务区域,陈列供读者直接利用的中外科技书刊约100万册。 5月20～5月22日,作为新馆开放纪念活动之一的“知识管理:图书馆的机遇与挑战”学术研讨会在新馆隆重举行。来自全国科研、高校、公共三大系统的图书情报学专家,美国图书馆界的学者,以及台湾地区科学
May 18, 2002, Chinese Academy of Sciences Document Information Center of the new museum built and open to the public. The new library stands in the center of Beijing’s Zhongguancun, with a building area of 40,900 M ~ 2 and 4 million documents of entry into Tibet. The new museum has 800 seats for readers and a large-scale electronic document service area in the center of the second floor where readers can get Internet resource retrieval, access to online literature and electronic documents, and other services. From the 3rd to the 5th floor As an open carrier service area for printing carrier literature, there are about 1 million books of Chinese and foreign science and technology books to be directly used by readers.
