1978年8月底,“文革”结束后不久,父亲胡铁生复出工作,出任上海市计划委员会顾问。再过一年多将迎来建国三十周年大庆,父亲便提议由计委牵头成立庆祝建国三十周年工艺美术大展筹委会。时任市委副书记兼市计委主任的陈锦华十分赞同,当即召集开会决定,由胡铁生协调上海手工业局、商业局、外贸局一起组成筹委会,并任筹委会
Shortly after the “Cultural Revolution” ended in August 1978, his father, Hu Tiesheng, came back to work as a consultant to the Shanghai Planning Commission. My father proposed that the Planning Commission should take the lead to set up the Preparatory Committee for the Arts and Crafts Exhibition to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Chen Jinhua, then deputy secretary of the municipal Party committee and director of the Planning Commission strongly agreed, immediately called a meeting decided by the Hu Tiesheng coordination Shanghai Handicraft Bureau, Commercial Bureau, Foreign Trade Bureau together formed the Preparatory Committee, and appointed the Preparatory Committee
