Howard Biha is a senior vice president of Starbucks. He is a man who has practiced “people-oriented ” management philosophy. In his years of service to Starbucks, he has consistently adhered to the belief that employees and customers are human beings, that the former can not be regarded as cost, and that the latter should be regarded as a “source of wealth.” Building a culture that makes people more important than products and profits is the key to success. He authored the article entitled “Leadership in Real Life” in the American Journal of Quality and Engagement, sharing with readers the ten principles that he has formed throughout his leadership career.
