From 2002 to 2003, under the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology for Agricultural Achievements Transformation Fund, Hongyan Fishery Company of Urumqi, after continuous experiments, succeeded in cultivating catfish in the alpine region. In 2003, warm water and cages were used for pollution-free cultivation of catfish.
