张恺的《昇平雅乐图》轴,描绘的是晚清贵族王府中的一支戏曲乐队。图中共画了一组乐手,他们呈半圆形散开在铺着地毯的小戏台上。左面的五位乐手以及右面最靠里的一位乐手,均手持打击乐器,有鼓、锣、钹等;另外右面的四位乐手则持吹奏乐器笛和唢呐。在乐队的身后,为一小桌,桌上置茶壶、茶杯、替换的乐器等。乐队正在聚精会神地吹奏一支欢快的乐曲。画面的上方写有“昇平雅乐图”五字。
Zhang Kai’s “Sheng Ping Ya Le Tu” axis, depicts the late Qing Dynasty aristocratic palace in a drama band. The picture draws a group of musicians, they were semi-circular scattered in the carpet on a small stage. The left five musicians and the rightmost one of the musicians, all holding percussion instruments, drums, gongs, cymbals, etc .; the other four players on the right are playing the instrument flute and suona. Behind the band, for a small table, the table set tea pots, cups, replaced musical instruments. The band is concentrating on playing a cheerful piece of music. The upper part of the screen reads “Elevate”.
