我以十分欣慰的心情,向读者,特别是向地方志编纂工作者、研究工作者推荐《河南方志研究》这本书。因为它填补了我省方志发展史上的一项科研空白。 (一) 河南地处中原,历史上曾长期属于我国政治、经济、军事、文化的中心,有安刚、洛阳,开封三大古都。因此,属于我国优良文化传统的地方志的编纂在河南也历史悠久,纂修遍至省、府、州及各县,有的县修志达八、九次之多,平均各县修志四、五次。从春秋战国至中华民国,历代编修的地方志书约计2000种左右,现有资料可考的942种,但其中散佚373种,现存569种,现存志书数量居全国各省、市之前列,排第五位。元以前的古方志,主要
