现代技术的发展使实现一个低成本、天线口径非常小的地球站(VSAT)成为可能。一些先进技术,诸如固态功率放大器、低成本频率转换器、数字处理器以及大规模集成电路等,都被应用到VSAT系统中。这些功能为卫星通信开僻了一个新的市场-大范围分布式数据网。VSAT网络能提供在最适合于用户指定的功能级上费用合理的大覆盖范围的数据网。应用先进的结构,VSAT网可以适应不同用户特定的拓扑结构应用支持、设备功能和管理要求。
The development of modern technology makes it possible to achieve a low cost, very small antenna station (VSAT). Some advanced technologies, such as solid-state power amplifiers, low-cost frequency converters, digital processors, and large scale integrated circuits, are used in VSAT systems. These features open up a new market for satellite communications - a wide range of distributed data networks. The VSAT network provides a large-area data network that is reasonably cost-effective at the user-specified function level. With advanced architecture, the VSAT network can accommodate different user-specific topology application support, device capabilities, and management requirements.
