The thermal Diels-Alder addition reaction of substituted ethylene CH2 = CHR (R = CH3, CHO and CN) with cyclohexane-1,3-diene was studied by the AM1 method using a non-limiting Hartree-FockUHF calculation. There is a synergistic response to the reaction and two free radical routes.
