The inspection and quarantine certificate is an important foreign document. The English in the certificate involves both the American and the English. A correct understanding and accurate use of English is of great significance to the inspection and quarantine work, the interests of enterprises, and even the cause of China’s foreign trade. This article details the differences between American English and British English in the inspection and quarantine certificates through a large number of examples and gives pertinent suggestions on how to properly use American English and British English in different countries.
