The black novel “Invisible Man” reflects the racial discrimination in American society in the 1930s and 1940s as well as the blacks’ understanding and resistance to their fate. The article uses a great deal of symbolism to depict the fate of the blacks in many ways, the denial and alienation of the black work by the white people, and the search for the self by the black people, which effectively expose the “invisible” fate of the black people.
