In early February 1999, I went to Yangon, Myanmar because of work needs, and lived there for more than a year. During this visit, I met many Burmese Chinese friends and other cities and read many local Chinese Data, so there is some understanding of the Chinese community in Myanmar, they described the following text. Historical outline of the Chinese society in Myanmar Chinese immigrants in Myanmar can be divided into two ways by land and sea, on time, the land is also earlier than the sea. Shortly after Myanmar’s independence in 1948, several preconceptions were made to overseas Chinese that they could not participate in the election, could not serve as civil servants, and could not give immovable property to non-Burmese descendants or to non-Burmese persons. It should be said that it is reasonable for the post-independence Myanmar to make the above provisions because any one sovereign country will step up the management of the overseas Chinese. However, these Ordinances do not have any substantial impact on the community of overseas Chinese. For example, they can not participate in the election and can not hold official duties
