Xie Bingxun lost his feet during the Korean War. Logically, he could have enjoyed the care of the country and spent his life comfortably. However, he was not willing to accept the fate of the arrangements. He just made unremitting efforts through his tenacious will and perseverance. In 1926, Xie Bingxun was born in Pai Lou Village, Beishan Township, Changsha County. After joining the army in 1949, he became a company cultural instructor. In October 1950, Xie Bingxun went to the DPRK for war and served as a scout in the regiment. In the famous battle of Changjinhu, he and his comrades encountered shelling of enemies while performing their tasks and their feet were broken.
