This article analyzes the complications associated with coronary angioplasty in 13 consecutive units of 7553 patients undergoing selective coronary angiography and related factors that increase the incidence of complications. Complications include: (1) death occurring within 48 hours after the start of the radiography; (2) myocardial infarction diagnosed by electrocardiogram and serum enzyme within 48 hours after the start of the radiography;
