建国40年来,我国的图书馆事业发展较快,取得了较大的成绩,不但修建了世界五大图书馆之一、被誉为“亚洲第一书城”的北京图书馆,其他各类图书馆均有不同程度的发展,为提高人们的文化素质,起到了一定的作用,这是有目共睹的。但是,近几年来,由于对精神文明建设的忽视以及物价上涨等原因,图书馆事业的不景气,已到了非常严峻的程度。试看公诸报端的一些典型事例:1.全国尚有269个县没有公共图书馆;2.全国县以上图书馆
In the 40 years since the founding of New China, the library in our country has witnessed rapid development and achieved great success. Not only has it constructed one of the five largest libraries in the world, but also is known as Beijing Library of Asia’s First Book City and other kinds of books All have varying degrees of development. They play a certain role in enhancing people’s cultural quality. This is obvious to all. However, in recent years, due to neglect of spiritual civilization construction and rising prices, the slump in the library business has reached a very serious level.
